Update on Chloey
Update on Chloey: I know I started this with very little to tell but this is very hard to do. I thought typing it out would help to deal with it but it really makes it harder sometimes. I am going to try to stay with it though because I know there are many people out there with big hearts and prayerful souls that want to know how things are going and I appreciate them very much. I would like to start from the beginning and explain what happened to cause her to have to go through this but we just really don't know. All we do know is the Dr's say she contracted the herpes simplex virus (HSV-1) probably by something as simple as someone kissing her that had an open fever blister or cold sore. This in turn caused the encephalitis that has severely damaged her brain. She had been in the hospital a couple of times for seizures thought to be cause by fever from teething or an ear infection. Then one night she had a seizure with no fever. This is basically when Dr's started worrying that something wasn't right. They put her back in the hospital and started CT's, MRI's, EEG's, etc...they ran so many tests....we waited so long to know something. Her tests would all come back clear, so what was wrong???? Then she was sent to see a neurologist at the Children's Hospital. It seemed that from there things just got worse. So here we are at this point. Now where do we go from here? I guess we just give it to God and let Him handle it completely. Her Dr's say to continue to love on her, pray for her and make her comfortable. We continue to ask for prayer for her and thanks to everyone for all they are doing to help us get through this.
